I travelled to a friend’s farm in Euroa on the weekend, and had time to sit in the shade and sketch the view.
Roses in a glass, iPad sketch
These Roses were a nice surprise from my neighbor when I arrived in Melbourne. Roses are a popular garden plant here, surviving well in the recent drought conditions.
This was drawn in mostly oil pastel using Art Set Pro edition on my iPad. I was inspired by some beautiful table decorations at a dinner function I went to recently.
Driving back home from the airport, I enjoyed the wide expanses of snow and the pops of color from the red barns. I snapped a few photos for reference, then when I got home and looked at the mostly grey landscape, I thought of my black and white photography class, where we developed black and white prints, then colored them with pens. This painting came from the idea of colored black and white prints.
It is a hand painted digital photo using Artset Pro edition.
I was fortunate enough to attend a Japanese tea ceremony last week, and loved the beautiful kimonos and the gracefulness of the procession of movements.
I couldn’t sketch while observing like I normally do, so instead snapped a few quick photos with my iPhone, then composed this sketch the next day using key elements of the photos as reference. I used Artset Pro, and my new Adonit Jot Touch.
Another iPad painting before the leaves fell! I am using my new iPad air and experimenting with a few different painting and drawing apps!
